CHEATS:
The
Admin’s have been investigating methods to make
playing on our servers a
“Cheat Free” experience. I am sure
most, if not all, of you know of the controversy
surrounding
the “No Fog” Mod(Cheat) that was on the Downloads link on our
Webpage. It was placed there in an effort to PREVENT
us from being “Cheated”
against. As it turns out, our Clan was accused of
promoting cheating because of it.
Unfortunately,
there was a possibility, no matter how minute, of that being true.
Consequently,
the Admin’s decided to remove the Mod from the
Webpage AND
request
ALL members remove it from their computer.
(If you are unsure how to
safely
remove it, contact one of the Admins for assistance.)
For a detailed description of the events
that lead up to the above accusation, visit the
Forums and view the topic “We are NOT
Cheaters”
MISSIONARY:
Some
of you have probably heard discussions on Teamspeak about Missionary.
The
following description was written by TexasJedi and aptly describes what
Missionary
is and what it provides. There is a VERY
strong probability the Clan
will
institute Missionary on one of our servers and request all members download
and
install the program. It appears to be
the ONLY anti cheat program that works
for Medal
of Honor games. A new page will be added
to our Website entitled
MISSIONARY. The following information, along with
additional tips, hints and news
concerning
Missionary will be posted there. At
present, we will continue to sponsor
a PUBLIC
server (probably the 14 man one) and add a line to the “Welcome
Message” advising all to visit our website and
investigate Missionary.
THANKS
Jedi for putting this together.

What is Missionary?
Missionary
in simple terms is a “Client Side Anti-Cheat” program developed for
Medal
of Honor Allied Assault. It is an interface system that prior to your
entering
a “Missionary Game Server” scans the MOHAA files on your
computer
to insure that there are absolutely no mods of any type available. In
order to
play MOHAA on a missionary server, you must have an “out of the
box”
version of MOHAA.
How does Missionary prevent cheating?
This
is achieved in two different steps; first your system must pass a
rigorous
scan of your MOHAA files. Missionary knows exactly what is
supposed
to be available, and anything present that is not supposed to be,
will
prevent your access to a Missionary Server. This includes Pk3 files,
.dll’s, opengl32; and other common files that are routinely
“modded” and/or
hacked to
give players an unfair advantage. Secondly, Missionary prevents
access to
your computers files while it is running. This means that a player
cannot
start Missionary, pass the initial scans, and then move modded
files to
the MOHAA folders after the scans have been completed.
How does Missionary benefit you the player?
SIMPLE…
You get a cheat free game!!! Without cheaters on the server, the
game is
once again about skill, strategy, and teamwork.
Are there other benefits?
Yes.
Most Missionary servers run maps and skins that are not standard
to the
game, but are not “cheats”. When entering a Missionary server the
player
will automatically be given the option to download any files that
are
specific to that individual server. Some servers allow certain non-cheat
mods
(such as cross-hairs or sound mods) which will be downloaded to
every
player on that server. This means if one player has a permitted mod;
every
other player has it as well.
Will MOHAA play without Missionary after installation?
Absolutely.
Missionary does not affect the game play you are currently
used to.
To play on a non-Missionary server, simply start the game as
usual.
POLicy Changes:
There
were several policy changes which became effective last month. They are:
TeamSpeak:
There
was a change in policy to set aside a period every evening from
onwards
where members under the age of 18 were requested to move to the ROTC
Channel
on TeamSpeak. I am sorry to announce
that to date, there have been, and
continue
to be, violations of the curfew. Apparently, the request was either forgotten,
or
ignored. Part of the purpose of the ROTC
Division is to build Character and the
skills
necessary to assist young men to take their rightful places in an adult
environment.
I
believe the ROTC members are capable of being responsible for their behavior
and
encourage
them to voluntarily observe the rules of the Clan.
Membership
Our Clan now has 29
Members. This month has seen the largest
single growth in
membership since the Clan’s inception. We are pleased to announce the addition
of the following new members:
1st Division ROTC Division
Kilshdog Chane
Rooster FireAnt
Saunders Flaxborage
TexasJedi Hitman
2nd Division SevereDamage
Shmokenapankake SpecOpsElite
SVT
WELCOME NEW MEMBERS
We are glad you choose GCC
and look forward to getting to know you better.
If
you have questions or
need help, please contact one of the Admins or Captains.
Clan
Matches
There are several Clan
matches scheduled for this month so check the Forums and
get in on the fun.
Clan Challenge by DbD
The match has been cancelled
by DbD. Perhaps some other time.
Server Fund
At this time there is no
charge to belong to the Clan. Originally all costs were
born by BigB and he is the party directly responsible to
our Server Provider.
Unfortunately, he informs me
that he is NOT repeating NOT
independently
wealthy!
Big B has received several
donations this month. THANK YOU!
However, the contributions
are not enough to pay for the server, he still
makes up the necessary difference. While there are no plans to make
membership contributions mandatory, ANY amount is APPRECIATED.
And
the addition of a larger server or adding any additional
servers will be limited
by the funds available.
So this spot in the News Letter will be to remind every
one when the Server Payment is coming due. Like this week!!
If you wish to donate, there
is a link on the webpage. (The link is STILL
NOT
working properly. I
have been in contact with PAYPAL and hope to have it
resolved SOON.)
If you don’t wish to wait for the
PAYPAL link, or prefer not to
use your credit card via the internet, you may please
mail your donation to:
